I have been lax on blogging, mainly because I have been busy running to and fro, with art exibits and Halloween parties:) I have another day tomarrow of Halloween festivities, I am so going to miss this season. Its already trying to zip by. And Christmas is trying to knock at the door. My head isn't into Christmas, I am still enjoying the smell of falling leaves.
Halloween is creeping up on us folks!!! Do you carve a pumpkin? Do you dress up?
I am going as a gothic raggety anne and will be at Melange on Final Friday with my creepy dolls...They are there already, looking out the shop windows, waiting for you to come and take them homeeeeee

Hmmmm what is scarey? Well to me, a creepy forest at night, and you can't place that sound, and why am I there anyway!?!? The movie that has always creeped me out is Blair Witch Project. It sets you up for a scarefest in the forest.
Now in the book realm I would go with H. P. Lovecraft everytime. Try The Colour Out Of Space. I suggest you try them all. H.P. Lovecraft complete and unabridged hard back can be found at Barnes and Noble.
Want something a little more adult and unsettling? Richard Laymon is the author for youuuuuu.
Brian Keene can bring zombies to life in a very REAL and risk taking way, try The Rising followed by City Of The Dead.
What? What's that? You want to watch a movie that's just a bit different? Hmmmmm
try Mum And Dad
Laid To Rest
if one of those doesn't get your goat then I am sorry you are too jaded for Horror;)
Remember to sign up for the Gothic doll on that post and the zombie hand on the OCT 1 post, I feel more giveaways trembling to arise...stay tuned......static....weird noises....thumping.....
While teaching Literature this week I read the shortest story ever written by Thomas Bailey Aldrich.
Difficult to forget, this tale of terror states the Horror that I love to find in the tales that creep me out...enjoy!
A woman is sitting in her old, shuttered house. She knows that she is alone in the whole world; every other thing is dead.
The doorbell rings.

Winner will be picked by random.org number generator on Oct.22 THE NIGHT OF THE FULL MOON!!

I have the pleasure of interviewing Joel Hulett. Hello Joel! Tell us a little about yourself and how you came to be involved with the Oklahoma Horror Fest.
What part (or parts) of the involvement you have in the Horror Fest gives you the most satisfaction?
Interacting with the cast, crew, and filmmakers of these films and hearing their stories. I guess they could relate to me since we make films also, and they opened their hearts to me and shared some amazing stuff. And then just watching these films over and over to decide the schedule and in review of the awards categories, I was unprepared for the affection that would develop for these films.
How do all these wonderful horror films find their way into the Horror Fest?
Filmmakers submit their films for consideration and we select the ones which are accepted. We started in January aggressively seeking submissions by contacting the film commission of every state in U.S., province in Canada, and the film ministries of many countries around the world. We received films too from all over the world. Once we received them, we would go through a process of review, scoring the film in 11 different categories on a hundred point scale. Anything scoring over 90 was automatically accepted. The other films would move on to additional scoring reviews and would advance according to the composite score.
How many years has the Oklahoma Horror Fest been in place?
This is our first year, but our company, Dolphin Bay Films, has been in the film industry for ten years and we have been planning this for a long time.
Is there a central website to check out the trailers and schedules?
Once my followers hit a "magical number" known only to me, I will be having a blog giveaway.
I will make a Doll to stagger or whisp away to your house. So suggest to your freinds to come and visit...Muhahahahaha

Well, well, well, we have all made it thus far. What shall we do now? This is a new year, with new opportunities. I say get more involved with whatever it is that inspires you. Your good at it already, why not shape it into something that you can share with others? Dig Deep, look well...its been in front of you all this time. Be Blessed:)
